I'd love that! I'm about 5 hours away, so we'll have to make it happen sometime. Or perhaps a Mets game early in the season when hope springs eternal??
I guess we all do--the interesting piece is looking back and seeing them, so clearly. So often, at the time, it felt to be in a fog. Choosing between two of seemingly similar value--always makes the choice tougher.
Josh, you keep connecting with New Yorkers like this, David and I may need to show you around and have a longer conversation in a favorite tavern.

Spring for baseball! Yes. For the Mets, hope has to be eternal. :)
Sigh
We are all wondering-- where is the audio of this great convo?
Ah, this is the result of an email exchange that we've cleaned up a bit! But I'm glad it sounds extemporaneous. Thanks for reading. 😊
Lovely exchange. Guys, I too read Potok early ... xo to you both!
That was a fun read, diverse backgrounds make for a better world. Thanks.
Thanks Tim! I agree -- the "energy of difference" (as I heard a French scholar put it once) makes almost anything more interesting.
So interesting--and how moments can change courses of lives.
Thank you for this --
Thanks Alison! Given what I know about your background, I'm sure you have your own version of those pivotal moments.

Interesting to know more about two guys I read regularly. Thanks fellas!!
Cheers, Dee -- thanks for reading!
Thanks Kimia! I agree -- it's been great to get to know David through his own writing and this exchange.
